General Duties
To ensure the protection, integrity, confidentiality, and availability of all the bank’s information assets through the provision and operational management of databases. The Database Administrator shall work as a strategic support in ensuring that ABZ database systems are maintained, available, secure and performance coupled with standard deployment are in line with ABZ standards. The role is responsible for enabling the business unit by providing and maintaining reliable databases and users are provided the needed support all times as well as anticipating, and preventing loss of service due to downtime on software, servers, and other hardware.
Among other responsibilities, you will be expected to:
- Develop, maintain, and regularly refresh database procedures and strategy in line with current and emerging business needs and technology
- Planning, deploying, configuring, and maintaining databases & database related servers. Administratively responsible for all SQL servers on ABZ network.
- Install, and administer database servers and systems such as MS SQL, MySQL, and Postgre etc.
- Support CBS by performing deployment, configuration, maintenance of myMBS and related applications.
- Ensure that policies, procedures, and process are documented and provided to various stakeholders
- Manage tickets raised on AH Global Service Desk within your work area
- Participate in the testing of emergency and Disaster Recovery Strategies (BCP) for ABZ Core Banking & Enterprise applications
Your Minimum Qualifications and Competencies should:
- Bachelor in IT or Diploma Plus Professional certificates in IT
- At least 3-year experience in prescribe field
- Proven experience and success with database administration, core banking system management, enterprise applications and adequate knowledge of various database query/scripting languages
- Tech Survey with exceptional analytical, verbal- and written- communication skills
- Ability to operate on a scheduled 24-hour on-call basis
