Business Development

Oversee all business and administrative aspects of the workshop

To run an efficient and profitable workshop to ensure the self-sustaining of the college

Forecast goals and objectives for the workshop and endeavour to meet them.

Responsible for marketing and growing the business

Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.

Plan and prepare annual budget for the department and facilities, scheduling expenditures, analysing variances and initiating corrective actions. Follow up closely during implementation.

Administration

Maintain reporting systems required for workshop operations

Attend and contribute to monthly meetings with CEO, Workshop Manager, Logistics Officer and Accounts Assistant

Prepare and administer annual operating budget for the workshop

Develop, motivate and monitor the performance of all workshop staff

Provide direct supervision to the Workshop Manager and Logistics Officer

Direct and schedule the activities of all workshop employees.

Monitor workshop staff daily productivity reports

Develop, motivate and monitor the performance of all workshop staff

Provide direct supervision to the Workshop Manager and Logistics Officer

Establish and maintain good working relationships with academic team to ensure collaboration between theory and practice for students.

Contribute to the MfA team

To report to the CEO and to work as part of the staff team at the college.

Work with the academic team to monitor student workshop time.

To adhere to all policies and procedures implemented across Mechanics for Africa

To work with professionalism and integrity at all times and to show the working of Christian values in your life

To work as directed by the CEO, from time to time, in any other reasonable duties concerning the workshop and college

Essential Qualities

Diploma/degree in Business Studies or related field

Experience in a management role within the automotive related industry

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students

Work under minimum supervision

Computer literate with a solid understanding of Microsoft applications

Strong communication and inter-personal skills with an administrative competence

High levels of accountability, honesty , integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality

It is an occupational requirement for the post holder to be a Christian.

Valid driver’s license
