- WAYLEAVE OFFICERS (Number Required: 03 Positions)
- JOB PURPOSE / DESCRIPTION
- To manage wayleave related risks, by ensuring compliance with statutory and public safety requirements. In addition, identify and acquire wayleaves and land for planned network developments in the entire value chain of generation, transmission and distribution of electricity.
- QUALIFICATIONS
- • Must possess a Grade 12 School Certificate. • Bachelor of Engineering in Surveying or Geomatic Engineering or Geographical Information Systems (GIS) or any other related field, from a reputable learning institution.
- EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENT
- • Minimum of two (02) years’ work experience in land management. • Conversant with GIS, as well as associated statutory requirements. • Registered member of a relevant professional body. • Good communication and interpersonal skills. • Good negotiating skills.
- JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
- • Conduct reconnaissance surveys and assessments of proposed routes and sites to determine most sustainable options for power lines, substations, power stations and associated infrastructure. • Conduct acquisition of land surveys for the construction of power stations, substations, power lines (overhead and underground) and other developments. • Conduct wayleave compliance monitoring to ensure that there are no encroachments. • Prepare due diligence reports. • Prepare and review wayleave drawings for planning and implementation purposes for the Surveyors and Engineers. • Ensure that environmental and resettlement guidelines are adhered to when handling wayleave issues. • Data collection and mapping using GIS. • Mapping of environmental and social data for preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments, Resettlement and Compensation Action Plans, Project Briefs and other management plans.
