We are looking to hire a skilled carpenter with knowledge of various carpentry techniques. The ideal candidate will be responsible for layout, assembly, and installation of various furnishings. Other duties will include designing, cutting, and measuring materials according to the client’s requirements.

The successful applicant should be hardworking, dependable, and have excellent communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Reads blueprints and design specifications prepared by other construction professionals and architects.

Designs and installs cabinets, shelving, doors, windows, fitted furniture and other fixtures as required.

Shapes or cuts materials to specified measurements, using hand tools or machines.

Ability to assess the quality of woodwork and materials.

Follows established safety rules and regulations maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Adds fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges, and closures.

Ability to operate tools, machines, and other equipment.

Requirements:

Grade 12 certificate

Carpentry certification is preferable.

2+ years’ experience as a carpenter

Excellent communication skills
