Job Description
To assist Legal Manager Contracts in ensuring that the provision and supply of goods and services to the Authority by third parties is governed by formal and legally enforceable contracts; ensure all Authority contracts conform to the applicable laws and regulations and that minimise risk to the Authority.
- Not less than four (4) years of experience at a similar level and position, in an organisation of similar size or reputable law firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafts all types of contracts entered into by the Authority for review by the Legal Manager Contracts in order to safeguard the Authority’s interests.
- Participates and represent Legal in bid preparation, tender evaluations, and in contract negotiations to ensure the transactions are compliant with laws and regulations.
- Update and Maintains contracts and risk register for the various contracts entered into by the Authority.
- Escalates to the supervisor on all legal issues and implications emanating from the various contracts to facilitate informed decision making.
- Escalates key risk areas and obligations in new and running contracts that user s need to be sensitised on as need arises.
- Flag changes in the regulatory framework which will affect contract management
- Conduct legal research on best practices and trends in the administration of contracts as assigned
- Prepare reports highlighting identified gaps, challenges, and risk trends encountered in the administration of contracts, to ensure appropriate solutions are identified and implemented.
- Develops and nurtures relationships with key internal stakeholders involved in the administration of contracts to ensure effective and efficient delivery and execution of procurement of goods and services in the Authority.
